Thanks...

Eclipse 2.1 is AMAZING! Very easy to install and is so much faster than stock.

How's battery life on Eclipse in a shoddy signal area? My battery life is fine when I'm home b/c I'm on wifi, but when I'm at work I can get 4G but poor signal, sometimes 3G, and I barely get twelve hours out of EXTENDED battery. Something's not right.

Not really. One of the hardest things on battery life is running in an area with a weak signal, because the phone will boost the power to the battery to try to hold the signal. If it is disconnecting it will also keep trying to reconnect, again, not too helpful to the battery.

A custom ROM may be better but don't expect miracles if you are in a weak signal.
