    Default 6.7.238

Just an Fyi 238 is leaked. Those on 235 will probably want to update. Those on 232 will still want to hold off. It has the same security restrictions as 235 so no going back once you update. The house of Bionic has been updated to support it. Again most people will want to stick with 232. If you are on 235 and want to update, you MUST use the reinstall 238 option in the house of Bionic not the install 238 option. Looks like we're getting closer.

I hope this doesn't end up like the 893 GB updates. I could see a lot of people move to 238, only to find out that 235 is the official OTA.

For those of us on 235, is there any compelling reason to move to 238? Can anyone on 238 try and go back to 235 so we at least know we can get back if 235 ends up being the OTA and 238 ends up being a dead end?

I'm on 232 what are the differences that 235 and 238 offered?

235 is a bit more polished (has the updated ICS usage videos, etc.). Other than that, there's not much of a difference. Unless you are a crack flasher, I'd stick with 232. You'll know for sure you can get back on the OTA path without jumping through hoops because you can easily bump back to 905. With 235 and above you can only move forward.

I can get you back to 235 from 238. Those on 235 have no compelling reason to skip it. Those on 232 should stay there until ota. 238 is a smoother build than 235. It's clear that we're getting closer.

Just grab the HoB 3.0 FULL installer, the COMPONENTS 1.0, and the 3.1 PATCH and you're golden. Since you're on 235, use the REINSTALL 238 option not the INSTALL 238 option. (INSTALL is for 232 or lower, REINSTALL is for 235+ or if you truly do have to reinstall from bricking yourself. )

I'm on 232 should I do this samuri? Where can we get hob 3.0? Do we lose all our apps and configuration as well?

Most people should not upgrade past 232 until the OTA is released. I think we're close. D4 is going into soak testing very soon. We're up next. HoB can be found here:

But again, if you're on 232, I HIGHLY recommend staying there. If you're 235, I recommend going up to 238.

Lol I'm afraid of messing my phone up I was on stock when I flashed the 232 to my phone and my wifes. Lol what are the chances that 232 is close to the Ota build and I don't have to upgrade.

Pretty much almost 0. LOL It will be 235, 238, or some new unleaked build. Guaranteed because 232 doesn't have the new security to disallow going back to 905 and they want to kill that as they did on all the other ICS moto phones.

If I download the 905 gingerbre and rsd lite, will that allow me to download the Ota when it comes out? Will that also erase all my apps?

I have a very advanced script that I wrote called the House of Bionic that will allow you to move between ICS builds without losing data and apps. When the OTA is released, it can be used to move from any of the ICS builds to the OTA without issues. However, it's better if you remain on 232 until the OTA comes out cause it's safer. Nonetheless, my script will be able to do what you want.

Novices are fine as long as you take the time to read everything before doing anything. It's not a complicated process, but, I expect my users to read up and learn what the process is before doing it. Check it out here:

I've read everything SamuriHL and Ry and the others have posted on how to flash .232 onto my phone. I was at the point of doing it, when I discovered that my (work supplied) phone does not have an external SD card. I've found some cheap ones online, but the ones available at the stores are $20-30. I am not going to pay that just to upgrade a few weeks early. Is there any way to flash the phone from either internal memory or by spoofing it into thinking the file is coming from an external SD card? I'm thinking not, but, hey, you never know!

Thanks for all the great posts, guys! Looking forward to ICS, however I get there!

Nope you need an sdcard to apply the update from.

For those keeping score, HoB 4.2 was released this morning. It's very dynamic now. You download the 4.0 installer, 1.0 components, 4.2 patch, and then install only the update( s ) you care about. If you only need 232, you get the 232 installer, etc.

Well, I bit the bullet and found a cheap SD card and installed .232. Some widgets don't work properly in the GO Launcher and battery life seems a bit less (though I probably have to go through a few more reboot cycles before I can actually call that a problem). Otherwise, liking the experience. I will, however, definitely be going back to .905 stock before the OTA, so I can get the best and final release. Hoping they invite me to the soak test, too.

One would have to think the soak test should be soon.
