Re: Bionic ICS Q4?
I got my Bionic a week ago because I dropped my Thunderbolt in the crapper. I must say even without ICS it has been a wonderful phone to me. I didn't realize how BAD the Thunderbolt really was until I got my Bionic.

Re: Bionic ICS Q4?
The what things have been going, it looks we can pretty much assume ICS will NOT happen in Q4.

Vzw is responsible for this. They truly suck.

Re: Bionic ICS Q4?
Freakin jerks! I don't think I'll ever get another Motorola phone. Year after year, nothing but lies and screw up's.

Re: Bionic ICS Q4?
Moto isn't the problem. VZW is. On all makes of phones. They delay the updates for everyone. Look at the Nexus...that just now got JB this week. On all other carriers it was done in like July I believe. The VZW S3 will be the LAST S3 to get JB, as well. VZW is ridiculous with their update approval process. Horribly so. To the point where I'm seriously contemplating bailing on VZW even with my unlimited plan.

Re: Bionic ICS Q4?
Today was the last straw. I liked my Bionic, but am fed up with constantly being strung along. So I called Verizon to vent, and they just let me upgrade to a Razor MAXX today even though I wasn't due for an upgrade for several more months. I had to pay $199 to upgrade, but I'm getting a phone with ICS and a 3300mAh battery which is twice the size of the Bionic's. And hopefully I won't have anymore data drop issues with the Razor MAXX. Judging by the reviews, it's a well made phone and customers seem to be very happy with it, including a couple of my co-workers who own the MAXX. I also checked EBay, and it seems like used Bionics like mine are selling for around $150, so I'm going to list mine and get back most of what I just spent to upgrade.

Re: Bionic ICS Q4?
Update, schmupdate! The Bionic doesnt need it! IMHO the phone is great the way it is...How much do people want their phone to do? It IS a phone, after all, not a computer! I'm not sure what people want from their phone, but my Bionic exceeds all my expectations, and then some.
P.S. beware of the naked man who offers you his shirt!

Re: Bionic ICS Q4?
I take it you haven't seen ics run on a bionic yet? Lol. If you think the bionic exceeds your expectations on gb... Just wait. Ics is coming soon... Hopefully in the next week or two if vzw gets out of the way and let's them put it out. Those of us who've been running it all summer would never go back. It's like a whole new phone. Imo it's the best the bionic has ever run and brings the phone to its fullest potential.

Re: Bionic ICS Q4?
Whatever, I've waited this long.. what's a few more weeks, months.. my phone does what I want it to do and is set up the way I like and it works. I'm not going to get all upset over a new OS. When it comes it comes. This phone has to last me a long time.
Secret is, don't ever get your hopes up in the first place.. be happy with what you have.
Famous last words..

Re: Bionic ICS Q4?
Well, honestly, the only reason I care about the update is all of the data drop issues.. It can get ridiculous sometimes.. I understand that I can keep it on 3G, but I paid for a 4G phone.. I WANT the faster speeds, I WANT what I paid for.

Re: Bionic ICS Q4?
Very much so, as well as the boost to 1.2 GHz speed. If you do simple browsing and such, you may not see much of a boost because they don't use much power to begin with. I can tell when it comes to the speed of opening apps, and the 3D tests in Quadrant that show the frame rates during the tests are a fair bit higher. I also have Android Assistant, and the idle processor usage is about half of what it was on GB due to the extra core and speed. Even if you don't notice it up front, things do run faster when able.
