custom ringtones won't play

I have a droid bionic XT875 and i lost my first one a couple weeks ago so i got another one off of ebay. I just got it today and when i tried to play the music i downloaded it sounded like the speaker was blown. Also when i added custom ringtones that i had made from myxer and tried to add them ass my ringtone or to a contact ringtone they wouldn't play. it made like a beep noise like it was trying to play it but nothing played.
