DROID BIONIC Jelly Bean Update

Verizon's other red-headed stepchild, the Galaxy Nexus, has just gotten JB. My recollection is that it came out some months before the Bionic, and was favored despite its mediocre hardware because as a Google Experience phone it would always be the first to receive updates

Anyhow, I take some encouragement from the fact that the other less-favored children are now receiving JB. Doesn't mean we're close to getting it, necessarily, but it does mean that there's a shorter list at the end of the sentence, "Of course we're planning to get around to the Bionic, as soon as we finish ..."

Your recollection is incorrect. The Nexus came out some months AFTER the Bionic.

I hope your vacation is going well. When you have a chance, do you want to look over these rumors? Since you've had a little bit of info on project Ghost, can you at least say if these rumors are hot, cold, or luke warm?

Canned air to blow out the pocket lint from the AUX/headphone jack. The Bionic is prone to shall amounts getting in and causing connection issues.

Wow, two days. What made you switch over?

App wise I'd say it's very dependent on what you want to do with your phone. What apps you could download on one phone, you could get on this. But, something I love with Moto is their Smart Actions. Take a look at your possibilities. For example, when my phone connects to my wifi at my college it automatically goes to silent so that it won't ring in the middle of class. Cool things like that.

The rumors are bs. And if people are going to get their panties in a knot because we discuss what we're planning on getting after the bionic, then what's the point of posting anything at all since jb on the bionic is weeks away if we're lucky...

I had a Incredible 4G, traded that for a Lumia 822 Windows 8 phone. Can't use PayPal Here with W8 so had to jump ship. Traded to this new in box.

Very true. We're up to over 900 posts, where probably at least a quarter of them are from SamuriHL, and now people are starting to come out and complain. Without this forum we'd know nothing except "This device will be upgraded Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)" from the Moto Support site.

If that's true, reset the clock, ladies and gentlemen, as we're now looking at an early May release. Hurray....or something. Finding it difficult to care now given the new phones on deck.

Look at it this way. If Ry tells me to STFU and stay on topic, I'll take that seriously. If a mod tells me the same, I'll take that seriously. Some random idjits wants to complain, they can go away. Nuff said. I don't have time to waste on all the idjits in the world. I dealt with enough of them when I developed the House of Bionic. Which, btw, is still going strong and still being used. No changes have been necessary in months. I really love that thing.

LOL, yea, it is pretty comical at this point. I just have to wonder how long they're going to drag this out. I mean, the D4 pushed already, so, the only OMAP4 device they have left is ours. Then they can die. Think about it...we're getting an old version of JB a few weeks before they're going to announce a major new version of Android. I'm told that'll be 5.0 (Key Lime Pie, as we know). As I've said before, the time to buy a new phone is when it comes with a major version of an OS. Not "will be upgraded to it" like the S IV...but actually ships with it like the Nexus 5 and perhaps Ghost. Ghost, btw, is *NOT* the XT912A. It's XT1058. Whether or not it's the infamous "X phone" is debatable. But it's a multi-carrier AND international phone that's being worked on.

No, different than ICS. And the difference is the new generation of phones really is twice as powerful and useful as the Bionic. Back when ICS was rolling, the RAZR HD, M, and S III were top dogs. They were still dual core, 1 gig phones with debatablely nicer screens. Now we're into full HD screens with 2 gigs and quad core processors. All capable of utilizing KLP to the fullest. Contrast that to an EOL, red-headed step child of a phone that, quite frankly, has been an AWESOME phone, but, is definitely past its prime.
