This is my first post and instruction set so be kind to a newbie, if I left anything out.
I like A/C?s Altered Beast, but I haven?t seen any updates in a while so I figured I would post a poop cleanup for anyone that hates Samsung poop. I like the calendar apk from Humble and I wanted it in AB. After deleting my calendar apk?s and pasting in the new files I noticed that the news feed apk was force closing. I edited the main.xml in the news feed apk to point to the proper calendar apk, and now all is well. Here are the calendar apk?s, the edited news feed apk. and instructions on how to update them.
Using Root Explorer or similar.
1. Download calender fix.zip and extract it some where. (calendar fix.zip)
2. Navigate to /system/app
3. Mount R/W (in Root Explorer there is a button at the top for this)
4. Cut and paste the following files to a backup folder (just in case this doesn?t work for you)
CalendarProvider.apk
GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk
TouchWizCalendar.apk
InfoAlarm.apk
5. Paste in all files from the zip into /system/app and change their permissions to rw-r--r--
6. Restore Phone. (it was the only way I could get my Google account to sync my appointments to my new calendar)
