My friend is about to get a cell phone but isn't sure what to get. She is looking at the $200 range with a contract and she for sure wants the RAZR line. The question is simple though; which one?

I have the Droid RAZR Maxx HD and absolutely love it. The battery is great and even better than my RAZR Maxx I had before hand. However, this is $100 out of her range. I have a feeling the RAZR HD has similar battery life to that of the original Droid RAZR Maxx. Is this true? If so, I'm going to have her go this route. Any experience from someone who has had the RAZR Maxx and switched to the base HD?

Didn't have the original razr but have the razr hd and I get 24-36 hours......of course everyone's results will vary but this phone does very well.....

I can go almost 2 days with moderate use, all day with heavy use. Most days I still have at least 70% left at the end of the day. Unless she's a power user, the RAZR HD is more than fine.

If you spend 299 on the Maxx you're a fool. You can get it for 199 at Best Buy, just bring the Amazon price and they will price match. Or buy it on Amazon, Letstalk, etc.

I wasn't aware that Amazon had the Maxx HD for $200. I'm a big Amazon supporter too. I will let her know since she would be willing to do this.

Any other opinions from former RAZR Maxx owners?

they dont make the maxx in white....and was way less than 200.......those are my reasons.....

My friend and I would experience random Wi-Fi drops. This is at home where no other devices including a Note 2, RAZR Maxx (Non-HD), Xyboard, laptops, etc. would suffer the same fate. I hear the original RAZR Maxx is now experiencing these issues post Jelly Bean but my sister and niece haven't seen such a thing so who knows. I've tried with a Linksys e3000 and Asus AC router and the issue persisted. Not everyone reported this but many did. There was a huge thread on Motorola's forums and no one found a real fix.
