Friend is looking into a RAZR
My friend is about to get a cell phone but isn't sure what to get. She is looking at the $200 range with a contract and she for sure wants the RAZR line. The question is simple though; which one?
I have the Droid RAZR Maxx HD and absolutely love it. The battery is great and even better than my RAZR Maxx I had before hand. However, this is $100 out of her range. I have a feeling the RAZR HD has similar battery life to that of the original Droid RAZR Maxx. Is this true? If so, I'm going to have her go this route. Any experience from someone who has had the RAZR Maxx and switched to the base HD? - 01-03-2013, 06:45 AM #2

Re: Friend is looking into a RAZR
If you spend 299 on the Maxx you're a fool. You can get it for 199 at Best Buy, just bring the Amazon price and they will price match. Or buy it on Amazon, Letstalk, etc.

Re: Friend is looking into a RAZR
With the ability to get the Maxx for 199, there is simply zero reason to consider getting the non-Maxx version.

Re: Friend is looking into a RAZR
I talked my friend into a Note II after all of the Wi-Fi issues I was experiencing with my RAZR MAXX HD. Thanks for the help though.

Re: Friend is looking into a RAZR
My friend and I would experience random Wi-Fi drops. This is at home where no other devices including a Note 2, RAZR Maxx (Non-HD), Xyboard, laptops, etc. would suffer the same fate. I hear the original RAZR Maxx is now experiencing these issues post Jelly Bean but my sister and niece haven't seen such a thing so who knows. I've tried with a Linksys e3000 and Asus AC router and the issue persisted. Not everyone reported this but many did. There was a huge thread on Motorola's forums and no one found a real fix.
