I can confirm that this app gives the Razr M Wifi HotSpot/Tether with no root and no VZW tethering on the account...

You have to change the device profile to Samsung ICS though. I connected my Kindle Fire with no issues and it requires infrastructure mode for Wifi connections.

Not responsible for how you decide to use this...

This is a 2 day trial and then $10 one time purchase

Does the preinstalled mobile hot spot app allow tethering? I was under the impression that it was now allowed with "Share Everything" plans.

If not, Foxfi is a free tethering app that doesn't require root.

I am on an unlimited data plan without the VZW Hotspot provisioned on my account and Foxfi only works if you have the VZW service...

Really? Foxfi worked on my DX with an unlimited plan and no hot spot provision from Verizon.

i just got my M today and i was hoping to work my wifi on it. id prefer wifi over tethering. i used to use wifi tether, but it requires a root which cant be done at the moment it seems.

i installed foxfi. even though my computer can detect the network my phone is broadcasting, it cannot connect. i am not sure how to "change the device profile" as the first post recommended.

Same problem here. Foxfi is no go on my wife's new M. It works fine on my Samsung Galaxy S3.

You have to use the app I referenced, not FoxFi

Not working for me. This is the first app that has ever turned on the hotspot and can be seen by all of devices but when I connect I get the message on my PCs "Limited network connectivity". So close!!!!

EDIT: Also I noticed that SVTP does not control the SSID, the stock hotspot "app" controls it.

Verizon Unlimited data Rezound ICS

There is an XDA thread that shows how to edit the Verizon hotspot to not check to see if you have tethering active on your account. It works for me.

I have the Maxx HD and I am very afraid of getting the JB update and losing FoxFi. The paid version Of FoxFi does not work with JB, so Ive been looking around for a replacement. I cant find the thread you mentioned. Is it possible to post a link please. Thank you.
