Can you hide the soft keys?
Ill make this short. I have the Razr M. I am rooted. How can I hide the soft keys so that I can make full use of the screen?
Thanks - 11-03-2012, 03:34 PM #2
Re: Can you hide the soft keys?
I don't think so - not sure if there is a launcher that would give that option. I use Nova and I hide the notification bar and the dock with no wallpaper and just simi clock and it is nice and clean...

Onscreen buttons has got to be the single biggest design error Google has made, simply horrible.

Re: Can you hide the soft keys?
Youtube does (which I appreciate), but that's the only app I've seen so far that hides them. I'd like it if the buttons would get hidden by Chrome. You'd think Google would write that into the Chrome code, since they are the ones promoting both the softkeys and the use of Chrome as stock browser. Also the stock gallery app. To me, there's no excuse for these stock Android apps to have built-in functionality around that. It's kind of weird how the Gallery app turns the icons into dots but still uses up the space.
I can't say I hate the softkeys. The experience of using them is smooth and nice. I just wish the OS was a little more flexible about how and when they're displayed. - 11-12-2012, 07:51 AM

I agree 100%. Moreover it makes the display specs misleading. A spec that says 4.5" display -> with soft keys it is actually only about 4.25". Such devices should say so, e.g. 4.25" display expandable to full 4.5" during video playback. - 01-10-2013, 01:32 PM #22

He was just giving a 'for-instance' example, not quoting a razr m spec.
