Driod M and tethering to PS3

So i have great 4G service at my house, speedtest using cell is pulling 31Mbps download which is faster than my broadband home connection. I tried tethering my cell using 4G to my Playstation 3 using Hotspot and the Test Connection is saying is only pulling 3Mbps download.....why is this?

The ps3 doesn't need that much data to run I tethered for 8 hours straight playin black ops and only used 300mb lol

I agree it doesnt need that much data usage, however why am I pulling a 31Mbps on my phone and only 3Mbps with PS3? That a 1/10th of the speed. My phone is not rooted by the way, is there something that isnt allowing the PS3 to test faster than this? Also, I was hoping to pull a decent ping/download speed using 4G for Black Ops2.

Its normal because your speeds drop when sharing your data with one or multiple devices. Out of those mb your ps3 only needs about 3mb to run good that leaves the other mb to tether something else while still maintaining data on your phone
