new text message stuck

The number that shows how many new text messages you have keeps getting stuck.sometimes it just seems to be a delay but sometimes it stays for the whole day but I don't have any new message this happens before and after update

I have noticed this on my phone as well. After I read a new text message, sometimes the orange box with a number in it (indicated number of new messages) stays on the Text app for minutes after I read it...

I have only had the phone for a few days but this problem surfaced on day one. It would drive me crazy if was using the default launcher. As much as I don't mind Motorola's launcher I still like Nova better so I went back to using that. No false numbers on my message apps there. I would still like to see that get fixed. I would think it would be a simple fix.
