Unlocking Droid Razr Maxx HD

I hope this is the best place to post this message.
I recently bought the Droid RAZR Maxx HD on Verizon.
I would like to unlock it for use on atnt and t mobile.
(It is a global phone with all the GSM and CDMA bands.)
(I paid full retail)
Verizon won't help, and Motorola says I have to go through Verizon.
If we pay full retail, we should be able to do as we please. (In my opinion)

Return it and buy and unlocked or Att version. Why buy it from them?

Beyond that, it will take time to crack that part open. Took awhile for the Rez, and a bit for the SGS3....you could be looking at a few months

Don't get your hope up anytime soon or ever. Sadly I don't think this will be possible to do in the near future.

Well all the others were but anyway he is talking about going from cdma to gsm which vzw has yet to do AFAIK on the original even though they promised it long ago.

Hi,

I live in the Middle East which uses GSM. I am assuming if i order it online it should work as Verizon only locked it for use with other carriers in the USA correct?

Help would be appricated.

I am pretty sure that this phone at least in the beginning is only going to be able to use the Verizon bands (CDMA)

You should be able to use it if the frequency is GSM.
