Life span of maxx hd

I was wondering if the maxx hd had the specs to last and run newer versions and handle the higher end apps. The DNA is a no go for me and I just want to make sure moto does not forget about this unit and that it can actually higher the more stressing apps like games and such. It is a not a spec power house in terms of processor or ram. I like the phone but I just want to make sure this phone was just not moto trying to throw something to Verizon to keep a product somewhat relevant. I just have trouble predicting what moto will do once next year hits and google starts actually taking the lead with their ideal android device?

I think the DROIDs will have a fairly decent life span. The RAZR M just got the jelly bean update. So i would imagine the other DROIDs will get it pretty soon considering the software is the same on all three. Plus the UI software is pretty damn close to stock Android.
