Pictures from EVERYWHERE displaying in gallery

I just got my RMHD a few months ago, and I'm not used to the gallery's UI. It is displaying my pictures from everywhere on the phone (both on-board and SD card storage). I'm talking music videos from my isyncr folder on the SD card, and cashed photos of workout exercises on the phone's storage.

How do I filter the photos to just the ones I want to see, like camera, downloads, and the like? I can't find a settings option in the gallery where you can do this. I know about the trick where you add a period in front of the folder to prevent it from displaying, but some folders are still displaying (for example .folder1>folder2>photo.jpg). the stuff in folder 2 will still display. Is there another way to hide EVERYTHING under a particular folder without going to the folder just before the picture (there are a lot under .folder 1)?

Sort by Album. There's a drop down menu on the top of the screen.

For some reason the Gallary app on this phone doesn't update or display pictures correctly, I'm using this [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] I'm also on Nova Launcher Prime so I just changed it's icon and it's like nothings different except my pictures are updating correctly haha

Add an empty file called .nomedia to the folder. You will then need to have to rebuild the media library then.

Use the app called Quickpic, it's amazing.
