Default Is the RAZR MAXX HD more of a serious business phone?

I'm wondering what most people here use their MAXX HD for? I admit, I use it more for work than anything else and the extreme battery life I get suits me perfectly. Phone calls, texts, schedules, appointment, notes, etc. I rarely use it for "fun" things, such as social networking, pictures, games, and the like. I also chose this phone more for practicality than anything else.

My gf just got her HTC One and I must admit I'm having a bit of phone envy. She's a veterinarian and I'm an MD so our work lives and free time are similar, but i'm much more the tech geek than she is. Not only is the phone gorgeous, I've become addicted to the Blinkfeed and Zoe features of her phone. Whenever we're out I make her use my phone for calls and texts so she can save her battery for pictures and the "fun" stuff. Outside of work and at home, I find myself playing with her phone a lot more, to the point of annoying her. I definitely use her blinkfeed to check sports scores... luckily shes a sports nut too so it didn't bother her to add my teams onto her updates. She calls my phone the boring suit and tie phone. Maybe it's just the novelty of it and it'll soon wear off, but I really like the HTC One. I'm looking forward to using the camera's Zoe feature for our next vacation, if you don't know what that is, I urge you to look it up.

Is our MAXXHD a boring business phone? If the One (or the next iteration of the DNA for us VZW folks) came with a 3000+mah battery I might switch, but until then I will be holding onto my MAXXHD. I just wonder how others use this phone. Our forum doesn't get nearly the attention of the One forum either; maybe that's also a sign.

I use mine for work and play. It is the perfect phone to balance both. It has the performance that allows for the fun stuff and the dependability, battery life and quality for the business side.

I enjoyed the Battery Life of the MAXX HD, but was displeased with the display (grainy, blotches) and the lag (or animation stutter).

Motorola forums don't get much attention because the bootloaders have been locked for the last several years, so development has been virtually non existent.

An HTC One with a 3300 mah battery, Wolfson DAC, expandable storage and Motorola reception would be excellent!

I've described the phone as a "mature" phone. Both from a platform/product perspective and the target audience. There are overlaps into other markets, but the price, battery life and other specs lean toward business users. Of all the specs it (Motorola) felt it needed to climb atop, battery was the one. Who's going to desire battery life most? Business users and power users. Not saying that individuals shouldn't be looking... or that other devices shouldn't be considered by business users..... just stating my impression of the where the device fits in the market.

I use my phone for everything. One of the things I've discovered I'm addicted to is Republic News Service, Google Currents and Flipboard. I read the news on my phone at lunch. From what I understand BlinkFeed is essentially a news reader that the HTC One puts on the home screen. So instead of having to open an app to get to my news feeds it's always right there on the home screen. I might like that, but it's hardly groundbreaking, more like a convenience.

Zoe is a camera feature that HTC has made easy and convenient. The Maxx HD has a burst photo mode and can capture individual frames from video.

Why don't use your Maxx HD for fun stuff? It can do it.

I guess I would be more impressed with the HTC One's camera (esp. low light), the front facing speakers and screen quality over the Maxx HD, than the built in custom apps.

The reason the One's forums are so busy is the phone is a recent release and people are going to be talking about it. Check out the volume of posts in this forum last November/December for comparison.

I have to say it is the best of both worlds (personal and business use)!... Since I came from a HTC Thunderbolt, I have a rather poor opinion re HTC and their products... I am not sure I would purchase another HTC product unless it was really spectacular!

I use my MAXX HD for everything and I continue to dig it, although I've had it since 30 October 2012. Nonetheless, when I consider some of the characteristics of the device that are of primary importance to me I must admit that I'm not left with a list that is social connectivity centric.

Rather, I find that I continue to be drawn to the device's superb battery life, the ability to encrypt both the device and micro SD card, the tough build quality, the fantastic speaker phone, what I consider to be a nice screen with great sizing, an excellent radio and GPS, and those apps and features that support my activity reference travel or business undertakings.

Still to this day, there is not yet another Android phone that I would consider owning amongst the current latest and greatest crop of devices. I also like the closer to stock Android OS that is found on the MHD. I don't consider myself deprived in the least bit when it comes to social connectivity...the MHD works great for me in this area.

Admittedly, I'm not a fan of whiz bang features that are found on some other devices. I like my device to be straight forward and efficient, especially time efficient, which I think the MHD executes in fine fashion. Bottom line, the MHD is a hands down winner for me and I sure as heck wouldn't swap for an HTC One, nor an S4, or anything else that is currently Android or iOS based. If someone wishes to classify my device as "business and tie", then so be it.. .but I classify it as rockin'!
