how to remove email from stock client

so when i setup my razr maxx i added two gmail accounts, and they now show up under the stock email client. i also have the gmail app and primarily use this to access my email. I would like to remove my email accounts from the stock client so i'm not getting double notifications. i have google searched this to death, but have not come up with anything. please help!

Years ago I accidentally logged into the stock email account first to setup my gmail accounts... I believe I had to remove the accounts first from the stock email app, then add them again through the gmail app.

Go to Settings > Accounts... are you gmail accounts list once or twice? Just curious.

i see the gmail accounts, and then i also see the same accounts listed as just google accounts with a black box with a white g in at as the icon.

I just opened my accounts list and my Gmail app accounts are listed as "Google"... you might want to try removing the gmail accounts.

this worked perfectly. now when i go to the stock email client app it asks me to add an account meaning my gmail accounts have been successfully unsynced from it. thanks a bunch!
