lock screen music controls

sorry to come off as a newbie, but i have owned the first and second motorola droids, htc droid incredible 2, and htc thunderbolt. Now i am on the razr maxx and love it, but even after getting the music widget can't get music controls on the lock screen like all these previous phones had. Any help? There has to be a way, i dont wanna have to unlock then scroll to the widget to chance songs or pause the music! Please help!

Both the "My Music" app and the Amazon MP3 player allow lockscreen controls, though with Amazon's you have to enable it in the settings. The "Play Music" app does not allow lock screen controls on gingerbread phones (which the Maxx is currently).

Thanks! Are these two aps on the phone already or do i need to download from the play store? I have been using the google play widget that the phone had on it already.

The "Play Music" app is already on the phone. I think Amazon MP3 is too, but I can't remember, if not it's free in the market.

I still have that google play music but nothing appears on the lock screen. Weird.

I've been using PlayerPro. It does cost a few bucks, but works really well. Very nice screen lock feature.

The stock music app has nice lock screen controls. They're pretty responsive.

The Google play music app doesn't have lockscreen controls, the ones from Motorola and Amazon do.
