double text?

Anyone else started getting the same text message twice since the update? My Maxx started doing this after I updated this morning.

I use goSMS and have received double text messages before and after this update so I don't think it has anything to do with this update. When I get a double text it is normally from friends with iphones so I don't know if that is a coincidence or not.

Well I use handcent and had never had a problem in the past. Also my cousin texted me a couple of times earlier today (post update) without any issues. But when my wife and buddy texted me later on is when it started. My wife has the RAZR and buddy has the iPhone.

Yea I had to uninstall go SMS due to the multiple text I was getting

Got update this morning, have gone through about 60 texts and no double texts at all. Using stock text app.

Yea I've been using the stock app and its fine but use another app and double apps everywhere

And what did you do? Do you have multiple SMS apps on your device now?

Jus go sms and ihave it set as default and the factory notification is turned off

And you are getting duplicate notifications for one SMS, or duplicate SMS messages???

Duplicate messages....one notification. Its like they come back within seconds of each other

And Go SMS Pro is your SMS app... and you are running the latest version (4.40)?

If you are running the latest version of Go SMS Pro, then go to Setting > Applications > Manage applications > Downloaded tab > Go SMS Pro > Clear data... back to home screen, boot down, leave off for a minute, boot up... then test it.

Ok....ill let you know wat happens. I was looking in tha market at go sms reviews from tha razr maxx and its been others to have this problem too.

Not one issue on my device. Have you opened your stock Text Messaging app to see if they have multiple texts in there???

I occasionally get this also, and I'm still using a stock Droid2. But tomorrow I update to a MAXX.

If you are getting duplicate SMS messages in the stock Text Messaging app, then I'd have to say it's not Go SMS Pro... to test this you could uninstall Go SMS Pro and reactive your Text Messaging app notification. If you are still receiving duplicates after that, then you might want to do a clear data on the stock app, and if that doesn't fix the issue you might need to do a factory reset.

My wife and I have both been using Handcent since we purchased our phones without a problem. After the update, my wife started getting multiple texts, but I did not. We both updated to Go SMS. She stopped getting the multiple texts and I started getting them. I shut down my phone and left it off for 5 minutes or so and it has not happened since, but I have only received about 5 texts.

I would say that the problem is with the phone, either it doesn't like aftermarket SMS applications, or it is with the update. But we have both had problems with Go SMS and Handcent since the update.

I was having random double text messages myself for the past couple days. I tried deleting the cache, data, etc and couldn't get it to stop. I was getting duplicates in both Go SMS and the stock app, but it didn't always happen and was not always from the same people. The only way I solved it (so far) was to remove Go SMS completely, reboot the phone and then restore Go SMS to version 4.37 from Titanium Backup. I'm on AOKP milestone 3 (ICS 4.0.3) on an LTE Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I hope this helps anyone else who is having this problem.
