My phone gives me an error message: check for update is not available at this time.

    Try again later.

It has been like this for a week now. Is there something wrong with my phone or is this normal? I don't want to miss getting the update cuz my phone is messed up.

I tried restarting my phone while holding down the bottom volume key for a battery pull simulation and it still says that.

    Any advice?

There is a article I found I think that what there doing is outrageous but I understand that things change. What really burns me is the level of service that's being provided and the quality of phones. Take me I own the galaxy nexus, I paid top dollar for my phone so I wouldn't need to renegotiate my contract. So here I am almost 6 months into my phone and I'm having a ongoing problem with my data. It won't stay connected " authenticate to the network" so i n turn I have to reset my phone to connect to the web or even make phone calls. Iv made multi calls to tech and every time they in turn make me feel as though I'm trying to pull a fast one on them. Iv been into my corp Verizon store just so the sales associate can document the issues. And here again they say oh nothings wrong. Funny I found this and makes a lot of since to me read it copy past it get the story out to the masses.

We're supposed to be angry because he willingly purchased a Samsung product. I'm guessing he wants Verizon to send him a Razr as a replacement. Sounds like a bad deal for Verizon.

I'd be very impressed if you managed to avoid all the frustrations, forum battles/pissing contests, and trolling associated with the long wait. I envy you, because you'll receive ICS with absolutely no expectation or prior knowledge of it. It'll be sweeter for you than for 90% of us on these forums.

Am totally curious (and anxious) about getting the update, but, should I be concerned about getting it as some posters in other threads have complained about the update screwing up their phone? What gives?
