The hard part is finding 2 identical Maxx's.

My screen display has not budged below 82% of battery :/ i struggled to make it 12 hours on a charge which we all know is awful for the maxx, and when i charged it going to sleep at 1am it was at 80% charge at 7am...... Uhhhh?

I don't understand your statement here. How do you turn off animations in ICS?
I tried this path which I think was written for GB but I don't see how to control this.
Turn animation off: Tap Home > Settings > Display > Animation > No animation
    Thanks

You know what, the bottom line is that we as Maxx owners should have never needed to have this conversation. It sucks that a Battery life thread is the largest one on here since the update. They completely messed with what IS the best feature of this phone risking our loyalty to it and prospective new users. What were they thinking anyway? What ever else happened, their first priority should have been not to mess with the battery life and if there is a process we should follow to keep it like it was, then freakin tell us what's required.

Does anyone know what is done with information collected from the Soak? Does the feedback given to them about battery life or anything get ironed out 'before' they push it out to the rest of the users? If not what is the purpose of having a Soak test at all? I really don't get it. I was expecting a second download after they looked at the soak results and took some kind of action to work on the things suggested to them. How does all that work anyway?

I don't see it either according to that path. That path worked on gingerbread but not ics. Try this app you can turn of window transitions and animations easily through it.

Why is the door on the right always locked?

There is an option to turn off Window animation scale and Transition animation scale in the Developer options menu. Settings/System/Developer options
Is this what you're talking about?

It is under developer options. There are two settings you will need to turn off

You guys actually do Rock Ok, I see it and will give it a shot. Thanks to maynardjames for the suggestion.

Also, is there anything else under 'Developer' that looks interesting to anyone regarding Battery?

I know this stuff is like crack to devs but for me, I just want my battery life and solid phone back

Don't know if this will help battery but there is also an option in Background process limit to select No background processes instead of the standard limit that was checked.

Reminds me of that great Samsung commercial, with the iPhone user saying, "I could never get a Samsung. I'm creative," and his friend saying, "Dude, you're a barista."

Were not the only ones. Since ICS upgrade, battery draining 3%/hr while idling

Leave it to Google to ruin a perfectly good thing in the Maxx. Now all I can think about is trying to find solutions to batteries issues which is the one damn thing I didn't have to worry about before ICS. Thanks alot Google.

I totally get what you're saying, but hopefully it will become a non-issue after a couple of weeks, because in my experience and many others, the battery life will return to normal after several charge cycles. Please see my previous post:

    Battery advice for new ICSers

I also ended up doing a factory reset, just because some other processes seemed a little sluggish after the update. Not only did things become smoother afterwards, but the battery life is now definitely back to normal. I know, having to do a factory reset is a big pain in the tuckus, and why should we have to do something so drastic to make it work correctly? I don't have a good answer besides the fact that this really is a big system upgrade rather than an incremental one, and factory resets aren't that bad as long as you have all of your settings backed up to your Google account. Your app history should be easy to access in Google Play and in the Amazon Appstore.

rbess1965, I just realized that I might have already mentioned my previous post to you before. Sorry if I'm being repetitive! But I did do a factory reset since the last time we discussed this, and it really seemed to help.

I had to fight Verizon to switch out my 4th Gnex for a razr maxx and the battery life is the only reason that i felt comfortable making the switch. The phone comes tomorrow and if it hasn't been updated to ics yet that will be my first move. The gnex gets 6-8 hours of battery life with moderate to heavy usage and battery drain is a major issue. This morning i took my phone off the charger at 6 am and when i started using it at 10am it was down to 72% just on idle with the extended battery. I guess my 2nd move after updating to ics will be a factory reset before i set the phone up. Ics is a battery killer as a whole but hopefully i'll be able to get the amazing battery life that the maxx is capable of.
