I got soooooooo upset waiting for my update that I just jumped off a cliff. Verizon is supposed to send me an update about what happens when I hit bottom.
I will let you all know something sometime in Q4.
I don't care what kind of phone you use, that's not how I judge someone's worth or intelligence. Sent using tapatalk 2. - 06-27-2012, 11:35 AM #53
Re: Still no ice cream
Amen, brother. I was attacked by a group of Bionic owners suffering from a software update version of Stockholm syndrome. I don't blame them, though, because they have no other way to cope with the situation of being the first to purchase a device, but the last to receive the upgrade.
Also, like another poster said in this thread, I can't recall a time where Verizon released information on a software update, but it took longer than 3 or 4 days to actually push to the phone. Miscommunication between Verizon and Moto? Maybe, but the waiting game is being abused here. - 06-27-2012, 11:49 AM #54
Re: Still no ice cream
Yeah we should! Since it makes a ton of sense to take a huge risk of jacking up our device. It might be worth it to those who can pay full retail for phones every 2 months. But some of us can't afford that lifestyle and we are stuck at the mercy of the all powerful OTA - 06-27-2012, 12:51 PM #55
Re: Still no ice cream
Jelly Bean is dropping in mid-July. I hope we get this ICS update before then!

Re: Still no ice cream
It appears Motorola put a halt for adjustments once again.

The process has been simplified and the risk of bricking has been reduced, but it's still there. There is a process to successfully bring you out of the brick you might encounter.
It's simple, if you understand the steps, the consequences and accept them, then give it a try. For those of you that root, then it should be a walk in the park.
If not, then wait.

That's true and I totally understand. It's a pain in the *** to have to wait so long for something so great. I'm just trying to do my part and help those without their well deserved desserts!

Re: Still no ice cream
I am just afraid by the time I get my ICS it will be all spoiled due to being left out too long. Who wants a soggy, melted mess when you can have a nice, firm dessert sandwich that makes those around you salivate in jealousy?!
Now I will get mine and the JB owners will look at me like i'm an amateur. Just like the ICS people did to me with Gingerbread. I see a nasty trend developing. - 06-27-2012, 05:48 PM #64
Re: Still no ice cream
Well the end of the projected Q2 release is near. The sad thing is that it took this long, and now jelly bean will be here next month. These manufacturers and carriers have got to keep up. It would be like loading a new car on the lot to sell and telling the customer, who wants the latest and greatest, that the newer car is on a truck waiting to be on it's way. Sadly by the time we get our Ice Cream Sandwich and begin to get use to it, Motorola will be completing Jelly Bean. Either way its disturbing to think it took this long.
Still waiting here in Lake Suzy, FL. Cant wait to get started rooting!

Re: Still no ice cream
Some people call it being thorough, but in my opinion, they could have been thorough like this and still gotten the dang update out in less that 8 months. If they can't, and it's just too gosh darn hard for them, maybe we need these companies to hire someone with some brains

Re: Still no ice cream
I know I've said this before, but I still feel that a software update taking just as long as a baby takes to fully develop in a womb just feels wrong. The massive failure and sudden death of the "Android Update Alliance" should let us know that this is never going to change, and that sucks.

The main disappointment now is that ice cream is already last years news now that jellybean was introduced to roll out in july we're being upgraded to second class. Its like waiting for a first class seat and finding out they put you in a middle seat between in coach

Re: Still no ice cream
I don't understand? It's this close and all the crying and disappointment. 2 months ago i was frustrated and disappointed but now I am anxious but excited.
We should all be anxious and excited for the update because half a day after we get the update everyone will be bored or complaining again.Thanked by: - 06-27-2012, 08:14 PM #74

Re: Still no ice cream
Location makes no difference people. Pushed updates are done via IMEI randomly but usually they are just available these days via the software update menu
Android is all about Personal Choice: Droid RAZR HD, Droid DNA, SGSIII, SG Note 2, HTC One X+, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus4... Hating is so Apple... we're better than that!
