Factory Data Reset, Cleared Cache and still no flash
Since the ICS update, I haven't been able to play any embedded flash videos using the stock browser, Dolphin HD, Opera, or any other browser I've tried.
I have done a factory data reset and cleared the phone's cache. Nothing has changed. Is this something that everyone with ICS is experiencing? For example, go to the desktop youtube site and try to play a video in Dolphin. You will see the video load in the progress bar, but it will never begin to play and the browser will lock so that you can't navigate to anything else until you force close it.
Is there a solution to this besides waiting for an OTA update? - 07-15-2012, 12:14 PM #2

Re: Factory Data Reset, Cleared Cache and still no flash
Flash is supported in ICS. Flash is not supported in chrome nor jellybean. Flash works fine on my Maxx, Rezound, and Asus tablets. All have ICS on them.
Delete chrome then go into settings, apps, all apps, then clean data in browser. Reboot phone see what happens. Do not reload chrome. - 07-15-2012, 10:44 PM #12

Re: Factory Data Reset, Cleared Cache and still no flash
This is a known issue with ICS on Droid Razr. There are several threads over at the Motorola Owner's Forum. Buried within the ICS prerelease information from Motorola there was a warning about this:
"Due to Adobe's discontinuation of Flash development, Flash Player is no longer preloaded and is not available for download from Google Play to this device. Existing installations of Flash Player may or may not play Flash video properly. Alternatively, the new HTML5 standard is supported for Web video."
GB on the Droid Razr was certified by Adobe and embedded videos work. ICS on Droid Razr is not supported, and flash content is affected - in my experience mainly the embedded videos not working.Thanked by: - 07-16-2012, 10:34 PM

Re: Factory Data Reset, Cleared Cache and still no flash
Thanks for the suggestion. Tried this out, and here's the update:
If I go to a page with multiple flash videos on it and try to play one, I get nothing and I can't navigate away from the page. Have to restart the browser to do anything else. This is using Dolphin HD.
BUT, if I try to play one video, then try to play another while that one is failing to play, the second video will play but with sound that lags the video by about a second and a half.
It's something, but definitely not the experience I enjoyed so much with Gingerbread. Sigh. Hopefully there's some fix to this or maybe it's just time for me to get over the capability.
I did wipe the system cache after uninstalling chrome, too. - 07-19-2012, 11:53 PM #18

I haven't had any issues except for having to install it after updating to ICS.

I read that flash is no longer supported in our devices... flash web site itself said supports android 4.0.x but when you look at supported devices web site it has droid razr maxx 2.3. I was wondering what was going on as well. I have a transformer tab and the maxx and cant view videos online now. Is there a replacement for flash or a work around?
