Re: This new battery life is UNACCEPTABLE.
I just wiped the cache. I'm gonna try and do 2-3 more charges while the phone is turned off. Hopefully that'll fix it!

Re: This new battery life is UNACCEPTABLE.
Just curious, how long have you had ICS, in terms of time as well as charge cycles?
Also, are you often in an area with poor or borderline mobile signal? The battery can actually run down faster if the phone is constantly searching for a signal. There's a room where I work that has zero reception, and if I've been hanging out there for a few hours, I notice my battery has drained more than usual.Thanked by: - 07-30-2012, 10:13 PM #28
Re: This new battery life is UNACCEPTABLE.
I'm happy with my Max. On most days I could probably get well over 24 hours out of my phone. Yesterday I took my phone off the charger ~ 8:00am and @ 11:30pm I had 68% left. Today I took it off the charger @ 6:00am and now at 10:11pm I'm at 53%.
I would consider myself a moderate user. - 07-31-2012, 12:51 AM

Re: This new battery life is UNACCEPTABLE.
I grabbed ICS pretty shortly after the first (Razr Maxx) people reported getting it. In fact, I remember having it for a day or so before others reported seeing it available. So what was that - a few weeks ago?
In terms of signal, I live between Baltimore and DC. I have pretty steady LTE most of the time. I don't think it's that though, because before I loaded ICS, I was getting at least 24 hours on each charge - in the same geographic location I'm in now. I leave my phone connected to my house's wifi when I am home, and I've always done that.
Basically, nothing has changed except updating from GB to ICS :/ - 08-01-2012, 03:08 AM

I've done three nights of a full charge with the phone turned off. And last night, I did that cache wipe thing. Much better results today! Still not as good as it was (pre ICS), but hopefully it'll continue getting better
Thanks for the help!

Re: This new battery life is UNACCEPTABLE.
usage and signal, the two most important and constantly changing variable. each day will not produce the exact same results. that is just a fact of life
weather can effect GPS lock on status, the building you're in can effect signal. weddings/breakups/news can effect how much you use Facebook.... what was your total screen on time? check it again tomorrow and your screen on time will be different, as will your battery.

Yup, I'm in Howard County - not far from Ft Meade.
So I cleared the cache and factory rest my phone. Also been charging the phone while it's turned off. The battery has been getting much better!

Looks good. Screen on time helps in assessing the actual usage though...

It doesn't help those with battery problems but it's obvious that not all phones were affected. I've been one of the lucky ones too. Below status with 3.5 hours of screen time and and average calls-time. Almost all the up-time is while on wifi.

Only time I found battery life to be poor is when I experienced a problem connecting to WiFi as noted in this thread.
Massive Battery Drain??? Check your WiFi Connectivity

My numbers are VERY similar to yours since the ics upgrade. I can't get what some of the guys are getting but I'm generally happy. Lately though, I've been struggling to get 11 hours from a charge with the same use. I cleared the cache again but fear I need a factory reset. This will be the 2nd reset since ics upgrade. Still, I like ics and I have faith it will get sorted out.

The way I see it as long as it lasts all day then it's good. It's not like you can't plug it in at night. There's no reason to start the day off with less than full battery
