What is the best wifi tethering app for ICS Max unrooted. I want to install one now before Verizon figures a way to block again...Thinking of FoxFi....

Foxfi works well for me, but then again, I don't use it much.

Foxfi. Doesn't require root, and works great.

Has anyone had luck tethering unrooted RAZR MAXX with Nexus 7? If so what app did you use?

I am using foxfi currently with my new N7 and I couldn't be happier.

    Unrooted Maxx and unrooted N7.

    I guess I should try it .

Its important to me since I could get my company to pay data on a 3/4g device but I am choosing a wifi only device that I plan to run off my phone...want to be sure I won't regret...

Ah, good old sarcasm. One of those "hard to gauge" internet phenomenon. ;-)

I'd say foxfi too but I haven't been able to get it to work on my wife's maxx since the ics upgrade. Works great on my other phone.

I'm not understanding this thread (I'm a noob). Isn't tethering as a hotspot built into android by default? I have an option to turn my gs3 into a hotspot, why do people install a separate app to do this?

Oh I see. We get tethering included here in Canada at no extra charge (but our data plans suck)

Try uninstalling it and reinstalling. I had the same issue, and this worked for me

Because you have to pay for that hot spot. Vs Foxfi just uses your data and makes it a free wifi hotspot.
