Default Headphone jack loose after 4 mos.

I can put a headphone plug into the jack, turn the phone upside down, shake the phone, and the jack immediately releases the plug. I often hear noise like you'd get on an old stereo when you turn the volume up or down - a crackling, hissing noise.

Please tell me this is a warranty issue!

Stupid question. Is the phone in a case? I had a blonde moment once and had this same problem because the plug couldn't get all the way plugged in because the case interfered. Just a thought.

Yeah if it's in a case make sure it actually snaps in. If it's naked and still does this then yes this would be covered by warranty as this is a hardware defect. Call Verizon and they will send you a replacement with next day delivery

I use a Moto car dock, so I can't use a case. The cable I use to plug it into my aux is the slim cable it came with, and my Skull Candy ear buds have a similarly-sized plug.

Have you tried any different aux cables or headphones? Do they all fall out the same?

I have used a pair of Sony whole ear headphones, my buds, an amplified speaker tube, and a Griffin coiled aux cable with the same results.

The rep at Verizon said I will get another phone in 3-5 days. I hope it's not refurbished.

Sorry, but it will be a Certified Like New Replacement device.

That's not necessarily a bad thing other than every one that I've received makes weird creaking noises somewhere.

3-5 days? Every time I have received one it was next day air and it was at my door by 3 pm. 90 percent of the time they are better than brand new phones as they are each individually inspected where as new phones only a few are inspected

Next day air costs $12. I can wait a few days. Maybe it'll still get here quickly.

That's weird. Maybe they changed it when I got my replacement a couple months ago it was still free next day
