So my maxx is unresponsive and stuck in a boot sequence. Its not rooted etc. anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

Did you try a soft rest? Hold power and volume down for about 15 seconds. The you will see a quick flash on the screen and it should boot up.

I tried that's volume up and down both by the way volume down takes a screen shot. After a few attempts that did it though. But only after I called Verizon. I had a burnt out pixel anyway so I got a replacement coming lol. Phone is still trucking though

No.. Soft reset is power and volume down. Trust me. I does both.

Yeah, it's kind of silly that the button combination for soft reset is exactly the same as that for screenshot--it just depends on how long you hold the buttons down for. Holding them down for about 2 seconds gives you a screenshot; holding them down for 10-15 seconds soft resets.

I think another difference is that to take a screenshot, you really have to press the power and volume down buttons at the exact same time, whereas to soft reset, it doesn't have to be at the exact same time.

The best way I have found to do a reset without taking a screen shot is to turn the screen off, then hit power and volume down, and it will turn the screen on and reset but without taking a pic
