phone locked up

So at dinner tonight I had used my phone to check a eBay listing and when I pressed the power button to shut down it went off, then open in lock mode and that's were it stayed. It had no service message on the screen. The phone is stock. I finnaly pressed the volume and power at the same time. The phone shut down. I pressed the power button and it powered up.
Anyone else have this happen?

A didn't place nice with B so it froze. Happens to the best of us.

Happens to me when I try to take pictures. The phone freezes right after the picture is taken and the picture is corrupt in my gallery.
