Default Does our battery get 'old'?

I've had my Maxx since early this year, February I think..can't remember. But I get plenty of battery, at end of day I have about 20-30% left with quite a bit of use.
My son got his Maxx last week and he uses his quite a bit, probably not as much as I do, but he ends up with about 80% at the end of the day.
I don't think I use mine 60% MORE than he does.

I have ICS on a factory reset, clear my cache, and run it wide open, but he runs his wide open as well. Bright screen, etc. Rare phone calls on his. I do call on mine. But he games and surfs probably more than I .

Which leads me to wonder if our batteries 'age'?

over the course of a year or two, yes, they do. but not as much as you may think. i know there is a lot of technical information in here, but this is by far the most comprehensive and factual proven write up.

So if the battery completely craps out in a Maxx can it be replaced? Can it be sent back to Moto for a fee and have a new pack added?

I don't know for fact but I'd like to think so. But my guess is that it would take around 4 years to completely be useless.

I'd like to say that I read that article, but I didn't.
What I CAN say is I haven't been getting good battery like I used to with Maxx when I first got it.
And this is Monday am. This past Friday night, I accidentally let Maxx run completely down, and I do mean it just flat WENT OFF>>>>. So, the battery went to 0. I put it on the charger and went to bed, got up the next am and had 100%.
Went with my son on a band trip 125 miles away, spent the day there, taking pix/video, a few phone calls, some surfing, FBing, and a few texts. I got back home at 1 oclock, the NEXT morning..and still had 20% left! That's good stuff.
And, on the trip, a buddy of mine was looking for a charger at 1 pm for his little bitty iPhone.
So yesterday am I took Maxx off the charger at 8 am (SLept in) and hasn't been back on the charger. Not much activity yesterday on it, some text, a little surfing and some FBing.
It's 6 am Monday and I still have 70% charge left.
Amazing, and much like the battery was when I first got it.
so..in an accidental study..it does good to run Maxx down..DOWN to zero every now and then and then charge him back up.
