so now what? battery life mystery

I have a stock Razr Maxx, and within the past month, it seems my battery life is just terrible (for a Maxx).. I barely used it today, and from 6am until 2pm, the battery is now at 50%. Ridiculously fast drain for something I barely used today.

Here's my battery stats:
Screen 42%
Browser 30%
Android OS 9%
Google Services 5%
Phone idle 5%
Cell Standby 5%
Google Play Store 2%
Wi-Fi 2%
Facebook 2%

So nothing is really standing out to me as the culprit.. I know there are apps out there that will better detail where your battery is being used.. Any recommendations?

As far as my usage goes, it's typically me checking e-mail and FB for about 5-10 minutes before work, and then checking e-mail/FB here and there, sparingly throughout the morning.. By the time I get home, I can typically be below 40% battery left. I used to go all day until bedtime without a single recharge. I have SOME push notifications going to my phone, but not anything that pushes regularly.

Time for a factory reset?

what is your exact dB of your signal at work. screen and browser are using the most juice, so how high is your brightness, how long was the screen on? what browser are you using? what websites are you visiting? if i watch porn in the bathroom at work twice a day for 15 minutes a piece, my battery will drain like that.... by 5pm. but i have awesome signal and screen on auto brightness.

As bradenfontaine mentioned, check to see how strong your cell signal is wherever your phone hangs out most. If the signal is weak or nonexistent, your phone will eat up a lot of battery struggling to find it.

Also, do you have Amazon Appstore installed, and if so, which version? There was an issue a few versions back with a battery drain glitch. Make sure the version is 4.5.16.0C or higher. You can check by going to the Settings menu while in the Appstore, and tap Version and Release Notes. If you don't have the most recent version, tap "Check for Updates." Be aware, though, that this doesn't always work. It seems that when there is a big update for the Appstore, you actually have to redownload it using your phone's browser by going to Install Amazon? Appstore, then tap on the downloaded apk file to install.

Finally, every now and then an app goes a little nuts and doesn't close, eating up a bunch of CPU cycles and battery juice. Rebooting the phone often fixes this problem.
