So I downloaded all the latest updates which changed the Yahoo Mail app layout and aesthetics but every time I get new mail it doesn't show up on my notifications bar.

Yep. Same here. I have multiple accounts setup. It used to work just fine, but now it keeps signing me out of one or the other. We'll just have to wait for them to fix it.
Yeah having the same problem as you. [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] is all I could find about it.
I was emailing back and forth with customer service. The latest version of the app seems to have resolved the notification and battery drain issues. Uninstall and reinstall to see if yours is working as well.
