It's probably something on Verizon's end.. Plus, there's no update available right now anyway.

It is because people flood it with checking for JB. It was happening a lot when the OTA got leaked. There is no update man. If you want it you can always install it manually.

Your getting that message because you're not connected to the network. See how your 4G lte logo is gray, it should be blue. Mine says currently up to date.

It's grey because he's connected to wi-fi, normal.

Blue means you're connected to the Google servers, while grey means you aren't. This is mentioned in the Razr Maxx manual.

The update is no longer available! They pulled it, that is why no one can get it any longer!
Your phone is correct it is up to date.

I don't think he's connected to WiFi. There is now WiFi icon.

He got the error regardless of connection because there isn't one available anymore.
If he wasn't connected at all, he would have received a different error anyway.

Where did you hear that jb has been pulled. Verizon help desk told me to expect it "any day" on Dec 24th.

Re: Check For Update Is Not Available At This Time for Verizon RAZR MAXX
This worked fine for me. I found it in here somewhere else, I think. I have RAZR MAXX HD now but I have the "old" XT912 around as a WiFi device. No need to wait for the "real" one to come back. Mine was stock when I did this...

Because it hasn't been available since that night.

Re: Check For Update Is Not Available At This Time for Verizon RAZR MAXX
We have this problem everytime an update is on the horizon. Then people freak out when it says check for update not available at this time. If you want the update, side load it like everyone else who has JB that didn't catch it over the air did.

Hopefully "On the horizon" doesn't mean 3 months from now.

This update is beyond great. Just side load it already. Using your your phone on ics is like driving a Ferrari that won't go past 50 mph.

Re: Check For Update Is Not Available At This Time for Verizon RAZR MAXX
Are there any major risks to manually updating via the sd card method? I'm on the verge of just doing it, I just don't want anything weird to happen. If there's anything that's not quite working they'll just fix it in the official OTA right?
Also, just Fyi I'm completely stock. No roms or anything like that.

Re: Check For Update Is Not Available At This Time for Verizon RAZR MAXX
I had the same error after I had to do a factory reset to my unresponsive phone. I was not rooted. I had to update manually to Jelly Bean here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
It offers 2 links, one for those on ICS and one for those who got the update in December, just pick the applicable link.
Good instructions. Took about 20 minutes total and my Razr Maxx is now on Jelly Bean.
