Girlfriend needs phone help..

My girlfriend is updating from a Droid 3 to either a S3 or MaxxHD. Which would you guys go with and why or why not?

It is hard for anyone to make recommendations that will be relevant to you. What is important to her? Durability? Style? Battery life? Best thing she can do is go to the store and play with both. Get the one she likes best in store, try it out, and take advantage of the 14 day return / exchange window.

The S3 is ultrathin and light, but its battery life is not nearly as good as with the Razr Maxx HD.
The screens are very similar, and I believe they're both good phones other than the battery life.. Have her go to the Verizon store and play with each phone.. Also have her keep in mind that if she can wait a few months, the Galaxy S4 will be out, and it is said to be even better than the S3.

I myself am a Motorola fan, and think their phones are built tougher. If a tough phone with great battery life is not as important to her, and "fashion" is, then get the S3 or S4.

Go to Google framework services under app manager clear cache/data, force close. Check for update. Retry a couple times if it doesn't work the first time. Let us know if you had luck with it. Sometimes, it just hasn't been released in your block and no way around that.

This assumes you checked for update already.
