Re: Side Load Official Jelly Bean onto Your Razr
My understanding is it will kill your root. The only difference you are doing is downloading it from a website instead of downloading it from Verizon off their OTA server. I used the mirror. I'm sure their server is taking a beating. I backed up my apps and sms to my SD card and did a full factory reset in recovery and did a cache wipe after applying the update. Re-installed my apps and sms and have been loving me some Jelly Bean with a side of Google Now.

That's on your end. I just downloaded it again fine using that link with my Nexus 7. Try a different computer or device.

Re: Side Load Official Jelly Bean onto Your Razr
One possibility is that the zip file became corrupted. The best way to verify this is to check the MD5 sum of the file on your SD card with the MD5 sum for the file on the download site. Astro File Manager is one app which allows you to check MD5 sums. If the numbers don't match, the file became corrupted.

Here is the Properties view of the update for to the Christmas leak, with the MD5 checksum at the bottom. The MD5 sum should also be listed on page from which you downloaded the file.

Re: Side Load Official Jelly Bean onto Your Razr
Be lucky.

I installed it two days ago, did a hard reset because I bungled the unlock process, and JB is buggy and laggy. Several times the PIN lockout screen would be bypassed. Any form of input (keyboard, screen, etc) would be laggy. A system process would eat up 20, 50, 80% of CPU time. I have 1 system CPU monitors that can read individual processes, and neither of them showed which one was eating the CPU time...
If anything, after the hard reset, I tried the Mac root script - which failed - before doing the Windows version, which had. Maybe something was transferred and gummed up the works. But it's the same lag others reported in December, and clearing the keyboard cache did not work. - 03-11-2013, 08:12 PM #20
