New router, Gmail won't work, but yahoo, aol and hotmail do...

so all my settings are the same. only change i made is getting a new d-link router. when connected to this wifi, i can't send or receive any gmail. aol, yahoo and hotmail will send and receive fine with the same app (k-9 mail). sometimes some apps can't access the internet even though when i go on speedtest, it says my wifi is working really well. can even browse the internet. just can't get any updates from facebook or instagram and such. i just reset the router and those work again. however, this gmail problem won't fix itself with router reset. what's going on?

I'd call D Link support.

Sounds like the router's firewall is on. Gmail probably uses non-standard ports. Try disabling the firewall on the router.

Yea I haven't had the chance to call support but I did disable firewall. Still no go. It's weird that it's just Gmail.

A lot of things like that can be fixed by rebooting the modem & router by cycling the power.
