They will be upgraded to ICS. Also remember it's going to take a few months for the Dev's to get software to run on ICS also.

    Not a major drawback.

What I wrote about my battery life (above), which is amazing, is with the screen at 80% brightness. This screen is very power efficient. There is absolutely no need to run it on automatic. Yes, at low brightness there are indeed green-gray undertones. At 80% it's pure white, even in browser pages.
We're all just used to power hungry LCD screens....

I've compared my Bionic at automatic to the RAZR at 100% and the whites are still better on the Bionic.

RGBW pentile will always have better whites. But I feel that the slightly dimmer background is easier to read especially in the browser with dark text on white. The Rezound is supposed to have the best non AMOLED display with the highest PPI but not sure of its performance in bright outdoors. Its heft and small battery does not inspire me. Still waiting for the Galaxy Nexus.

Is the Galaxy Nexus a RGBW?

I prefer the Galaxy Nexus also if it ever goes on sale.

And I agree about the Rezound - it's a huge fat ugly phone with an underpowered battery.

If I could get the RAZR's whites to an acceptable reading level I would consider it over the Bionic. It get's better browser speed benchmarks also.

The Razr display looked very good to me at full brightness. Nice whites although I thought the white on the Bionic was just a bit "whiter", perhaps brighter would be a better word. The interesting thing that I noted was that on automatic, the Bionic whites were still fairly white, just a dimmer white. Where as I mentioned, the dimmer I set the Razr display, the greener/grayer the screen looked to me.

You're right tho', battery drain with a fully lit Razr would be a deciding factor in my mind as well. I'd have to leave the Razr set to full brightness as that greenish display hue on auto just didn't set well with me. So... we'll see what sort of battery life our comrades here on Android Central report with their Razr's set to full bright.

Yeah what kind of battery life can you get with a RAZR at 100% brightness?

Also how many of you have the speaker rattle bug?

The longest I've gotten thus far was around 8 hrs.

As far as the "said" speaker rattle, I have yet to experience this with my Razr.

I've gone from "deciding between Razr & Nexus" to "deciding whether to wait for the Nexus or jump ship for AT&T and get the Galaxy S2 Skyrocket". Went and looked at one in a store yesterday and it was awesome! Looks better than the nexus, by all specs at least. And it's the best of both worlds, I would get a removable battery, SD card, 8MP camera and a sweet 4.5" screen!

Hmm, decisions. Is it worth leaving Big red and losing my grandfathered UL data for 2GB data on AT&T? It might be, not sure.

In a word ... NO... these phones are using more and more data and while you might save some money in the short run (AT&T's 2GB data plan is $5 less than Verizon's) you will make it up in data overages unless you neuter your phone and don't use half the features.

Yea. my girlfriend has 2GB on T Mobile and after a weekend or 2 weeks, our daughter went thru it already.

Youtube and Netflix probably did it. Thats all they really use. They dont have cable or internet in their apt so that probably played a factor.

Well with my unlimited now, I only average 900MB to 1GB a month. So I'm far from a 2GB cap. Plus with Wi-Fi at home and work, that'll compensate and prevent overage.

Here's an eye-opener: BGR's report on the new Nexus Prime I'll still call it: Ice Cream Sandwich kind of sucks, actually. Well, I must say that this is the first time I've actually thought about NOT updating to 4.0 on my new Razr. I thought it was just my wife's Tab 10.1 that was such a mess, now I realize that it's Honeycomb, and they've retained the worst of that in Ice Cream. Yuck to the highest degree. It's NOT intuitive at all, the loss of the Menu button is tragic if not stupid. And I don't need the stupid recent apps button since the HOME KEY did that anyway! What the heck is Google doing? Feeling much better about picking the Razr now!

Well yeah, streaming video definitely eats through the data.

Me too, there is no way I could use this as my everyday device. I got it for ICS and for hacking so it does not effect me as much but it is very disturbing.

Well I have the Razr, which I absolutely love, my wife has the Nexus...she equally loves. Honestly, they are both nice phones. I have had a chance to play with both side by side now so I thought I would share.
Build quality..hands down goes to the razr..its not only beautiful to look at, but just feels solid. The nexus is nice looking phone, but feels fragile in your hands. Both are extremely light in weight.
Camera..a little closer, but motorola still has a way to go..have to give it to the nexus, although both don't hold a candle to HTC. What only 5MP??? That's right, it's better than my 8 on the razr.
    Front facing they are equal.
speakers and call quality you won't find a better phone than the razr..in fact my wife has to use her old smartphone as her alarm clock because the speaker on the nexus is just to soft to hear.
Obviously the nexus has ics vs gingerbread on the razr..I have no opinion on this. I have played with hers, but there is a bit of a learning curve..so I can't say I like or hate it more..eventually both will be running ics, however being a true google phone, I expect hers to get the updates sooner.
Screens: both look sharp..I don't get into the specs too much, If you can tell a difference you have better eyes than me.
The big reason to get the nexus over the razr is the the unlocked boot loader and lack of manufacturer "skin"..however I must say, motorola toned down there "blur" quite a bit on the razr..i don't bother rooting my phone these days, so the locked boot loader doesn't matter to me.
we both are getting decent battery life...what you would expect from a smartphone.
Both have decent storage out of the box...obviously everyone knows the advantages or dealmakers on both for storage and battery.
In my opinion, you can't go wrong with either. I'm not a fanboy of any particular brand, both excel in some areas and lack in some others. the over all experience is great on both.

I have tried the Galaxy Nexus from VZW. I am a newbie to droid, but the call quality lacked where the razr was very clear, crisp and good tones, the nexus wasn't.
Also both were updated software and the Razr transitioned from landscape to portrait and back much smoother and faster.
The battery drain on the GN was down to 60% in less than 8 hours and I am a very moderate user.
The Razr for the same 8 hours was only down to 80%.

I had all data, syncing emails etc the same on both devices. I agree that GN seems much more polished but very happy with the Razr for my needs. also like the fact of the Micro - Sd Card as I have a 32Gb card. Comes in great for extra data.......
    Thanks

After driving myself crazy with the delays i purchased the nexus on the official launch date at Verizon. I had the phone for one week and took it back and exchanged it for the razr. To say the least I am much happier with the Razor after the first few days. The Nexus felt cheap, had a weak speaker, had a weak signal ,lost some sort of data capability many many times, and felt a little awkward to handle. The razr has excelled in every way so far. None of the problems above whatsoever. Battery life is also a lot better on the Razr. Whoever says the camera nexus is crazy. The first photos I took of my kids school assembly were terrible. It did have amazing shutter speed and the screen was a little better resolution and that's about it. I am so glad I convinced myself to take the nexus back and get the Razr.

Having had a Galaxy Tab 10.1 for several months now (love it) and the GNEX since launch, I can happily say that ICS (and even Honeycomb) are a step above GB. But it does take some getting used too. The menu key is there when it's needed although the apps will need to conform to putting it in one place (top or bottom) when they're updated. And the recent apps button works great when switching between open apps. And, it's FAST! The ability to group your apps in folders (similar to ADW Launcher EX) is excellent and cuts down on the need for multiple screens. So all-in-all, I'm very impressed with ICS, so far.

As far as the GNEX goes, I'm seriously considering looking at the Razr Max when it's released. I love ICS but after having a Samsung Fascinate for the past year and a half, I'm ready to try MOTO.

My reasons: 3) The camera in the Nexus is not good. I've taken side-by-side pics with the Fascinate and it's better than the GNEX. 2) The speaker and volume ARE very weak. I"m sure that will be fixed with an update, but the problem shouldn't have been there at the launch. 1) Having power and headphone jacks at the bottom of the phone is the deal breaker! If the display rotated 180 than maybe. But not being able to set it in a cup-holder or in the space on the dash where I place most phones (I travel and rent cars weekly) is useless.

Samsung's displays are excellent (as is this one). But the radios are weak. And as I said, I travel weekly and need a signal in rural areas.

I really would hate to leave the Nexus with ICS and the frequent updates (I had a Nexus One). But this needs to be a working phone for me that I can rely on. I've got to the 15th to decide

Paid $35 to trade in my GN for the RAZR yesterday.

So far, very happy with the switch.

Auto screen brightness on Razr is perfect level--GN was way too dim.

Reception and voice calls clearly better with Razr.

I like all buttons on one side. GN--too easy to hit volume button when trying to put to sleep since buttons on opp side.

Neither has great battery life. But I like smart actions and bought a pocketable 2900MAH external battery/charger for RAZR. No big deal to not have removable battery.

It doesn't matter what generation the antenna is if it's having signal problems...newer doesn't always mean better in some cases.
