    Default Social Location App

Has anyone figured out how to completely shut down this app? I have tried deleting all of the Favorites, Channels and Friends and menu off. It is like Jason and just keeps coming back. It is consistently showing up with between 10-20% under battery usage meter. Really annoying especially since I do not use the app.Don't really want to root at this point, but that may be the only way to kill this thing.

I've noticed the same thing. Never used the freakin thing and it's showing 13% at the moment. I also deleted all of the Favorites, Channels and Friends and I did the whole menu and off thing too. Any info would be appreciated.

Ok so I just tried something. I turned off the social locations app and then restarted my phone. After turning it on, the social locations app is gone from the battery usage. Hope this helps.

if you are rooted, you can use Titanium backup to "freeze" this app. then it wont run, ever.

Actually, I tried that, and somehow I think it was running again. I agree, that's the way to go, and maybe I was "seeing things".

I ended-up uninstalling it with Ti Backup, and it's truly gone now. Before that I was also seeing it chew-up battery, and I have no interest in (what I understand to be) the app's functionality so "good riddance".

This app is crucial to be able to set locations within the Smart Actions app. I deleted mine at first too, then once I realized I pushed it back to system/app and my smart actions is working again.

I don't see mine in battery usage though.
