I went to Verizon this morning and got to play with the GN for about 30 min. What a POS!

First off the build quality is terrible. This is the first time I've ever played with a phone at the store where the security tag/cable pulls the battery cover off the phone? It's a flimsy piece of plastic that came off every time I put it back on. The rest of the phone just feels cheap, especially after living with the Razr for the last several weeks.

I was talking with the rep and they had no one in line and I was the first one to play with it so there was noone that messed it up before I got there. The camera would even open. I got an error message even after a restart.

The lag is horrific when going from portrait to landscape and even opening some apps, especially the camera. I never did it to work.

ICS is awesome and I can wait the 4+ months to have it on a good phone (my Razr).

Short story turned long, I live the Razr but I felt I needed to give the GN a look. I still have until Jan 15th to return or exchange the Razr and it looks like the only phone I can see making me pull that trigger is the Razr Maxx (if it's even coming here).

For anyone looking to exchange their Razr for the GN, spend a lot of time with it if you do. IMO, it just isn't worth it.

Except for maybe the samoled HD screen, you can't say the hardware is the major draw. ICS is, and will eventually be available on most phones through official updates or roms.

Besides initially releasing with the latest and greatest version of android, I really don't see what the big hooblah is about. Most phones will probably see Jellybean roms before the GNex gets is official update from google.

I completely agree. Went into check it out as well. Picked it up off the dock and there went the battery cover. Felt too light to me. My phone has to have some weight... feel solid. Completely turn off by the battery cover and the cheap feel to it. Really had no intention of buying it unless it blew me away. Will be happily sticking with my iPhone :)

I compared the Razr and GN side by side on the same video from You Tube. No discernable difference.

Went and played around with one today also, the phone had no battery when I got there and the back was hanging off. it had fallen apart and the battery was now missing, she went and got another, while it did boot fast, that was the only thing that impressed me.

Its like comparing a Corvette to a Ferrari, they are both technically super-cars, but one is still a chevy and feels that way. After the Charge, I will NEVER own a Samsung phone again.

I'm not a fan of Samsung phones, although I know the screen will be really nice on the Nexus. The design and hardware that Motorola put together made it an easy choice for me. Can't wait to get Ice Cream Sandwich on the RAZR.

Doubtful, the gn got an update immediately on activation. The xoom has seen it's fair share of updates and I imagine the gn will see much more.

Keep in mind any time any android phone is updated (minus bug fixing) it's to a newer version of Android that's already been pushed to the nexus.

Me either. The Nexus just feels cheap, especially with that flimsy plastic battery door. Plus, Samsung radios have always been sub-par.

The screen isn't all that it's cut out to be. Go compare for yourself. I did and there isn't much difference. Screen resolutions of comparable resolutions on screens of this size aren't that discernable. Just ask any videophile.

Moto definitely has far better build quality.

I played with the GN prior to its release.
I thought its build quality and lagginess was a major let down. By far the only thing I did like about it was the face recognition unlock app.

And today I went by my local Verizon were one was on display, same issues as in the one I played.
Pretty sad. I was expecting better, but oh well... I'm sporting my Razr and very happy with it.

I to stopped at a VZW store. I was not sure when I got my Razr if I wanted that or the GN, but then I thought who makes the most radio communication products and the answer was Moto. Well, I have had a Moto phone since the early days of Cellular (1990's) and with a few exceptions always had a Moto. (did move to a BB, but came back with the advent of Android).

Got the Razr on opening day 11/11 @ 11AM. Now I won't think of anything else. Did have the D2G and I find the only thing missing is the "global" and I have that covered with the D2G when needed.:)

I expected to be returning the RAZR the day the Nexus came out and had no intention of keeping it. After having spent the last 2.5 weeks 'renting' the RAZR I think i'll be keeping it. While the screen is marginally better on the Nexus, almost every other category that is important to me is superior on the RAZR:

-Signal Strength
-Build Quality
-Design/Image
-GPS accuracy and speed
-Camera
-Speaker clarity/volume

I'm not a fan of the new buttonless design of the Nexus at this stage. Plus Smart Actions is an amazing app.

I was holding out for the GN but I needed a reliable phone before my Thanksgiving cross-country trip, so I selected the RAZR. Except for low-light photos and the occasional lag, the RAZR has done nothing but please me, and it feels like it's meant to last. I didn't even bother stopping by VZW today. I'm happy. I am looking forward to ICS though and wouldn't have bought the RAZR without that promise.

I agree with all positive comments even though I have not touched the GN. All the hype is around ICS and less about the build quality of the Razr. I'm dumbfounded on the low ratings given to the Razr to this point. I hope they change once VZW sends us some sweet Ice Cream Sandwich!

I was torn between getting the RAZR or waiting for the Nexus. I'm glad I bought the RAZR. It really is a great phone. Even my Apple-loving friends are impressed with it, at least from a looks, hardware, and build quality standpoint.

What are you smokin'?? NO Android device will see a Jellybean update prior to the Nexus phones. You are dreaming if you believe Verizon will update the RAZR on schedule with NEXUS. History should make this very clear by now......

After seeing all the leaked ICS builds so far on the SGS2 and Xperia devices, I'm glad I got a GN. Seems like they have all butchered ICS to the point it is unrecognizable.

....your missing what makes a nexus what it is........SOFTWARE. Written exactly the way it is intended to run...open and free.....Molest it with Verizon/Motorola CRAPPOLA....there's your RAZR.

Saddness...I bought the GN yesterday and I'm returning it today. Honestly, I didn't like ICS...It felt like a different OS. Almost like a poor attemp at an...yuk...iPhone. I switched back to my GB Droid X, feels like home! I really wanted to like the GN.
