Having problems syncing my email between phone and computer

I have a Motorola Razr and I'm having issues with syncing my email between my phone and my computer - that is, I can't find the option to do it at all. It's irritating and ridiculously frustrating to have to go into my email on my computer all the time and mark everything as read, because I've already opened them all on my phone. I don't know if I'm blind or just stupid, but I can't find a way to sync it so that when I read an email on my phone, it will be marked as read on my computer.

I had a BlackBerry before getting the Razr, and syncing my email worked seamlessly, so I can't figure out what the problem is here!

Oh yeah, and I use a Hotmail account - none of that gmail crap for me lol
