rooted tethering question

Hey everyone I am new to the forums and I have a question I wasn't able to find the answer to I recently rooted my RAZR via the thread in here and it worked great I saw that if a phone is rooted you can do unlimited hotspot but do those apps also work if I'm connected via USB? I have Verizon and it would help a lot to have it unlimited it seems feathering over the hotspots is a lot faster? Or is it the same data speeds? Thanks for the help I've already gotten and any replys I get here

The hot spot isn't unlimited. If you have a data cap it will still use your data.

The hotspot uses your data so unless you have an unlimited plan you can't have unlimited tethering in any form.

o ok thanks. i thought i saw somewhere that if you root it made it unlimted if you installed the right app

What you CAN do is get FREE Hotspot by using the SQL hack. So far, it's the only way to "tether" that's verified to work. But as other have said, you only get unlimited data if you're grandfathered in.

Yep the sql hack works great even on jellybean, it even allows you to use verizon hot spot and not get charged. Since foxfi wants you to pay this is a good remedy.
