How do you feel about cases?

Anyone going to get a case? Personally, I don't like bulky cases. Instead I'll be looking for a sleeve or pouch.

Well personally I really dont like cases, they just make the phones more bulky and harder to handle. I would rather just be a little more careful, get a screen protector and some insurance and call it a day

My wife gets her silicone cases at the local $1 store. Just as good as anything else I've seen for much more. I'm not a case, skin or screen protector guy.

I am thinking about buying a case and than buying a universal car vent mount that can adjust to the X's size. This way maybe I can use a case and car vent dock at the same time.

I prefer vent docks because I like having the phone right next to me while driving (I usually mount GPS on the left side of my wind shield too like a weirdo).

How about a waterproof case, for use while canoeing? That way, I can hang it around my neck and use the GPS and camera easily. I know there are various generic bag-type cases, but does anyone know if a case might be available that is more custom-fitted for the Droid X?

Hopefully they have a decent slimline sorta case that doesnt add to much bulk. I might just end up skinning it with something that has that rubberized feel to it, can never have enough grip on this beast. Even if i do always have the death grip on it.

just went to my local VZW to check for a demo which they did

but then I inquired for a DX case. they guy took out all the different cases they have. (holster, holster with case, body glove, the glittery one, snap on, and silicone)

I bought the silicone case which also protects the buttons.

I've had several BB's in the past, and currently have a Tour.

I've used several different cases, including Seidio (which I'm not terribly impressed with). Considering that I'll be using both the car and desk base units, using an actual case will not be practical. Also, I'm concerned about using a holster without a protective case. Therefore, I'm looking for some sort of hard "sleeve", similar to what Vaja produces. I've put in an inquiry to them, and I'm sure they'll be making one. However, they're very expensive. The one they make for the Droid is $60 (basically, they are custom made).

I'm wondering if any other company will be making something like this??

The first option looks like a good cross between a tacky silicon and the slick seidio. Why are the seidio cases so bloody expensive anyhow? I've ordered through Daydeal previously and had good experiences.

I'm not getting one. My Droid took SO much abuse with no shield. I work in a warehouse and it has fallen on concrete, asphalt, etc and no scratches or anything. They way they make the glass now is awesome.

Still on the fence on whether, when, and how I might get the X. But if it can't go in my pocket with my ZuneHD without a case then its not for me.

i just got the screen protectors and the body glove they make awesome cases ill just use it until some better options come out i dont want to funk up my phone i had to scrounge pennies to buy this phone cant wait till i get it tomorrow.

You can get two piece hard shell snap on cases off ebay. Just type in "Droid X cases" in the search. There are clear ones and black ones ranging from $7.95 to $9.95 with free s/h.

I'm thinking black for me so it looks like it's part of the phone but I agree with 1088933, cases make the phones bulky and I always ended up taking them off.

I like my phone naked ;-)

I picked up the Best Buy house brand (Rocket Fish) case today in blue rubberized hard plastic for $25. I was gonna wait for the Seidio but they havent released a ship date yet or any info for the desk cradle. With the RF, I am concerned about how resilient it will be as the mechanism that attaches the two halves looks a bit fragile. It doesnt include screen protection so I was going to buy a Zaag Screen Protector but they didn't have the screen only one so I am waiting for now.

as far as the car mount goes...........I believe it is designed to work with cases....I just don't know which cases. Sorry.On the car mount, there is a piece you can remove to give all for more depth. I haven't seen anywhere where it lists what cases may/may not with the car mount.

UPDATE: I just took the insert out of the car mount, and it seems that the insert (when removed) will allow for a case thickness of about 1.5mm. depending on where I measured, I was getting anywhere from .060" to .070" thickness on the insert.

I believe the droid x will got inside this pelican i1015 case very snug.perfect for the outdoors, even built with head phone jack connection.its runs about 22-_34$

I purchased the clear hard case from Verizon. I am happy with it so far. However, I am waiting to see what comes out as far as holsters!

I got mine today from Raine it is #052c cordura belt pouch. I had the protection film from steinheil and silicone skin case from verizon but this raine case works well to carry it in.

I got my DX on Saturday the 17th and love it! I have realized that I need a case and I want a holster. I was thinking of purchasing the Verizon one but would prefer one that does not have a Verizon logo or any logo for that matter. Can anyone recommend a good holster case preferably in leather? If anyone owns the Verizon leather holster, what are your opinions of it?
