Hey guys, just a heads up,

I recently checked up on that extended 3500mah battery from Seidio for our beloved Droid X's, seems they must be having a tough time cramming that many cells into the phone with it still looking like a phone. They dropped the mah from 3500 to 2800, and it's still not released yet.

I get the feeling it will be released soon though, and hopefully it maintains at 2800mah. Any lower and it almost doesn't seem worth the buy, better off getting the VZW 1930mah battery with the great discount code: BAT30. Wait scratch that I read somewhere the code doesn't work anymore :(

....

Perhaps so, but it's also possible that Seidio has decided to be a little more conservative with their battery claims. They have a history, at least according to testing by BatteryBoss BatteryBoss Calls Out False Capacity Claims! , of exaggerated capacity claims on their batteries, with actual capacities in the range of 79-84% of their advertised claims, and 2800 mAh is exactly 80% of the original 3500.

Thanks for pointing it out vic. I noticed that the EVO has a 3500mah from Seidio and that article shows it to be at roughly 2800 actual as well. So I guess they decided to be honest with Droid X users?

As long as I see that the EVO's 3500 is actually 2800, then I won't feel a little jipped on my extended battery now :p
