This is probably as close to stock as your going to get plus it included the "important" mod fixes that addresses broken things left behind by Sammy/Sprint. The core of the ROM remains untouched as in no theme, stock appearance, all bloatware present. Great base to play with and change up as you please

noCIQ
GPS Fix
Logsprovider fix (no more txt is call log)
Extended Power Menu (reboot/recovery/download mode from shut down menu)

Using the stock browser Ted?

Grab Dolphin Mini from the Market, that will allow the download to go through.. I use Dolphin Mini all the time to download stuff from MediaFire and others..

Okay, and if I am on Cyanogen Mod, I dont need to convert to RFS as I am already on it, yes?

Quick question Paul, if I am on EH17 will doing a full wipe and flashing this Rom do the trick, or do I have to revert to a prior version?

Not entirely sure but I believe you should be able to wipe in CWM and flash right into Gingerbread EI22....

Only thing that MIGHT not change is your modem, you may have to Odin your modem back to EC05 and update that manually... Not positive on this being required or not...

Another newb question...I have Froyo EC05 and am rooted. I download this to my SD card and what would the next procedure be?

Will this keep all my apps, etc?

I have Titanium backup and have it set to auto backup, is there anything else I need to worry about?

Thanks for your patience and the fact that you've probably explained all this a hundred times to people like me.

If you have done your backups with Titanium then you should be good to go... Once your up and running re download Titanium and I suggest doing a DATA ONLY restore to your backups... Different OS/ different app updates... This will result in less conflicts.

You can make a Nandroid Backup in CWM just incase something goes wrong you can wipe everything and restore the backup.

Otherwise... Choose install zip from CWM and let her rip!

I would imagine the most recent themes based the latest Gingerbread leaks... But there might be changes in the framework's which could affect some things....

Flash at your own risk basically... Not saying it will brick, highly doubt that but it may start popping FC's ...

Give the devs a few days... They will have themes updated.

Its stock so you should be RFS... They do have that conversion flashable for it over at XDA don't they Ted?

Chris41g or someone cooked it up... Or Odin back ...

i tried this earlier n had 2 get a new phone from sprint 2day. so im on ec05 non-root.

if I wanted 2 update to ei22, should I use this file?

also I want into recovery f saw that the phone has blue writing & I think it said #manual mode#. I have this file & was able to rename it update.zip & am able to update in this recovery mode. if I do this, will I b able to update to cwm 3.1 if I have the zip file?

also, if I do this process will it remove my apps? I think that it would, but just wanted 2 ask.

yes they do but Im on CM7 so already in RFS. It's on!!

That would be correct. You will need to Odin to stock ec05 so your on rfs

I just wanna let everyone know that I was running Thunderhawk 1.1 and all I had to do was 3x clean data/cache/dalvik and flash the file found at the begining of this thread and my EI22 is working perfectly. I love this update, but I gotta say i never thought it would ever come. So, good luck everyone. Time to rub it in the faces of people that have phones runing Froyo

Paul627g, I used your EC05x_DXC.tar on my phone because you have it fixed so it would install without wiping anything.

The main reason I used that was so I could use the SPX stock apps remover to get rid of some of the bloatware.

Can I upgrade over that with your release of Gingerbread? Your FroYo release worked slick as can be. :)

I left it with the CWM you included, after having problems from trying to update the CWM version.

If you going to flash this CWM version of Official GB then yes, as long as CWM doesn't kick it back it should flash.

If your attempting to do a plain stock OTA/manual "update.zip" upgrade to Gingerbread while using the old Froyo Pre-rooted Odin package then no it won't accept the update.

Just for information's sake, the wife's phone was rooted and running EH17, did full wipe and CWM flashed this with no issues. Thanks for supplying this ROM. Finally no more random reboots, dropping of the area code on SMS, and fewer complaints from the wife. Yay!

First impressions:

First of all, it's rock solid. Wifi locks perfectly, gps is fast, video - no worries. Everything works. I will test 4G in a couple of hours.

That said, my Quadrant Benchmark is about 1400 which is not bad but not the screaming 2K's I was pulling with CM7.

There is still a lot of crap I want to get rid of. It's nice that the obvious bloatware comes out easily but theres a lot of obscure crap that is hard to identify whether I am freezing or deleting. I can't get rid of Media Hub, when I move the APK it sets up a FC loop. Also want to dump the Downloads app, Gmail, Google search, Lattitude, Maps, Navigation, Sprint Hotspot. What are their system names? Does anyone know?
