Downgrade back to 2.2.1?
My Epic 4G received the Gingerbread update from Sprint this past week.
I'm not a fan and wish to go back to 2.2.1.
Sprint "officially" says that this is not possible.
Anybody know of any workarounds to get back to a working version of Android for this phone?
TIA. - 11-21-2011, 10:54 AM #2

[How to] Factory Restore (or Fix a Bricked Phone) Credit to Paul627g
Use procedure #1
WARNING YOULL LOSE ALL DATA AND DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK
If you succeed which is more than likely to happen just ignore the OTA GB update - 11-21-2011, 12:06 PM #4

Re: Downgrade back to 2.2.1?
Did the GB update, now the GPS is all hosed. I've had my Epic for over a year, so it came with Eclair. If I do a factory reset, will I be able to get a stock Froyo back on there?

Re: Downgrade back to 2.2.1?
A factory reset from within the the Settings option, no.
You will need to use a program called Odin and follow the process in the thread below. Use procedure #1 and follow the instructions. Any problems please post in that thread and we can handle it over there
