EH17 to EL30 Modem

After much reading I think I have the process down, but wanted to run this by someone before I attempt it. If I am planning on going from EH17 to EL30, are these the proper steps? (I'm running the Alpha 1 of CM9)

Follow steps via Odin to flash EC05
While on EC05, flash EI22 with CWM
Flash the BML capable CWM tool, then flash the EL30 modem

Does this sound correct?

Isn't CM9 and MTD based ROM/Filesystem? I thought when you burnt an MTD ROM that there were an extra step or two to go back to BML and upgrade modems. I keep seeing references to "victory"?
