Re: Android Tether not working (Running CM9 Alpha II)
I'm not sure what your Settings are in your wifi tether (Encryption, Passphrase, SSID, etc.).
But, did you activate the "Access Control"? If so, you need to open it after the connection is established. Checkmark the device and Enable. - 02-16-2012, 03:39 PM #6
Did you set it to Epic under settings?
Also, how did you determine there is "nothing wrong with your phone". What I mean is, can you post what processes you used to determine that?

Re: Android Tether not working (Running CM9 Alpha II)
I appreciate everyone's response. I will need to look deeper into this to pinpoint the exact reason. Not a big deal, I just like to carry all my devices (Laptop, Tablet, PS VITA, Epic 4G) around with me and my epic give me that internet connection.

Re: Android Tether not working (Running CM9 Alpha II)
I decided to just re-flash CM9 Alpha 3 again. I installed the wifi tether and I still can not get any devices to connect. Is there anyway i can check to see if my signal is even broadcasting.
Also I know there cant be any problem with my phone, because when I was on rooted EI30 I could broadcast signal. - 02-17-2012, 07:52 PM #11
Re: Android Tether not working (Running CM9 Alpha II)
rraman3110, when you open the wi-fi tether application do not tap on it to start tethering before enabling WiFi encryption, Change Passphrase and Change SSID. After you set all that you need to click on Menu > Access Control, and click on the Enable button on the top-right. This should give you access to the tethering.
I have to tell you it's been really stable with Alpha 3. No disconnects or anything of that sort.
Let me know if this information helped.
