Default Flashing Modem with Odin Required for Froyo ROMs?

Do all of the froyo roms require installing modem through odin?

Some developers say it is required, others just strongly suggest it. You could go with a pre-DK17 based ROM, a lot of those don't require a new modem, but they also have more bugs. Why don't you want to use Odin?

Thanks for the reply. I have odin installed, I was just curious whether installing the modem was required and since it seems those roms are more stable, I guess I'll be going that route. I'm looking at quantum or epic experience froyo.

Any DK17 based rom requires the DK17 modem. The previous leaks still worked on DI18.

If you plan on using 4g don't use quantum. I had it when I first made the jump to froyo, and it would connect to 4g but not transmit data. And yes it was the latest 1.5 version

Just look at the name. Ignore the trolls. Its almost impossible to brick a CDMA phone (almost key word).

So my phone isn't really acting correctly. I was wondering if someone could show me step by step instructions on getting my phone back to stock. I don't want to be rooted anymore but I need help. :/

This should do the trick: http://forum.androidcentral.com/epic...y-restore.html. If you have problems with that procedure, just post in that thread and someone will help you out.

This actually happened to me too when I first installed DK28. Completely user error, I mixed up my pit and tar files from an old DI18 installation. Phone was completely dead and wouldn't respond at all. So I took the battery out, held power for a few seconds, put battery back in, got into download mode and flashed Froyo.
