First time rooter: question about System Updates

I rooted my EL29 yesterday and I'm using Titanium Backup to freeze unwanted apps and do automated backups. I'm really glad I finally rooted--the ability to get rid of the bloatware alone made it worth it. Titanium Backup was well worth the small cost. Great program.

My question is with regards to OTA System updates. I'm not sure how being rooted changes things. For example, when Ice Cream Sandwich is made available as an OTA update, can I apply it? What about firmware updates?

I should mention that I'm not running a custom ROM, and I have no plans to do so.

Any other tips along these lines?

Thanks!

As long as you don't delete any of that bloat and just freeze it you are fine, you will still be able to receive the ota. If you delete them just back them up first then delete. That way when the ota shows up you just restore them and you can accept it. If you don't have all the original apps installed the ota will show up but when you try to install it will fail.
