Running sprint vvm right now on dk's latest aokp build. Runs with no problem. Just search for an apk and push that to system/app. Actually I think there is one on the CM9 install guide.

Then fix permissions and go into the app to activate it. Volume seems to be low, but if you decrease the volume to he right level all is well and playback is loud enough.

I use Google Voice for VVM on AOSP ROMs. Youmail is a decent choice as well.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am shaving another problem, I keep getting the new voicemail (29) in the notification bar even though I have no voicemail. I cannot swipe it away it is just there reminding me that I have a message. Any ideas?
