Get a spare EVO battery for free!
Go to your local corporate Sprint store and ask if they have any spare Hero or TP2 batteries laying around. You might have them check in their "e-waste" bin. Most of the spare batteries are from phones that were 30-day returned and sent back to manufacturer. The Hero, TP2, and Evo share the same battery.

To the OP, have you tried this yourself and been successful? Or have you not tried it and want us to do it?

I've done this in the past with pre batteries. I can confirm it does happen, it just depends on who you talk to and if they're cool or not.

I have a $70,000.00 car.... I'd be pissed if they told me I had to buy an extra battery, because the alternator won't keep the battery charged all day... Using your logic, I should say... no problem.... I'll just buy extra batteries to keep in the trunk and charge all of them every night when i get home)

Actually, using my logic im saying "its possible i need a full charge at any given moment throughout the day" and so i spent a measly 12$ on 2 batteries.
You don't own a 70,000$ car, and even if you did your analogy is not even analogous. Way to fail.
Going in and asking for a free battery from a sprint store is YMMV and unlikely to actually be successful.
Oh, and i know you dont own a 70,000$ car because if you did you wouldnt be complaining about buying a couple spare batteries, even at full price.
