Hi everyone! I'm new here and would like some advice. I bought two Nexus 7 32gb tablets last December but yesterday one of the plugs stopped working. I've tried to see if it would work in the other Nexus but no joy. I then returned it to the shop I bought it from and have now been told I will have to send my nexus 7 tablet with the dodgy plug just to get the plug sorted. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! Can anyone give me any advice? Cheers.

I've found out that the Android email app is fairly robust and a great competitor to say the iPhone. It's also way better than what companies do to destroy it in their skins, but that's another story isn't it. My questions is in regard to searching. I have all of my emails downloaded to the phone. I want to say, search only the inbox or only the sent folders. I also want to know if gmail-esque qualifiers work such as from: 'person or to: 'person', etc.

My S3 will randomly and frequently disconnect from/reconnect to my router. This has been happening since the OS update back in late December of 2012. I've tried everything I can think of, I've posted on another forum, and nothing seems to be working. It is maddening. If I am browsing the net, I have to refresh roughly every 45 seconds because of the dissconnect/reconnect, and I get a "page can not be displayed" error. If I am using Facebook and this happens, I am constantly kicked out of whatever I was doing, and thrown to the top of the news feed.

I've been trying to customize the look and feel of my phone. One area I've been working on is notifications, especially lock screen.

Here is my issue. I'd like to use NiLS to create lock screen widgets. However, our work uses Exchange and has a security requirement of using at least a PIN. The stock app uses a device level PIN, in other words, I have to put it in at the lockscreen.

That creates a problem, as it appears I cannot add or change the lockscreen widgets when the PIN security is enabled. In fact, the use multiple lockscreen widgets option completely goes away when the PIN is enabled.

One solution may be to use Touchdown, since that uses an App level PIN rather than at the device level (ie I don't put the PIN in until I open touchdown rather than at the lockscreen). Will lockscreen widgets works with Touchdown since there is no device level PIN required? Will emails even show up from touchdown on a lockscreen widget?

Google Now is able to look at my stock calendar and tells me what events I have upcoming. Will it do the same with Touchdown's calendar?

Thanks for any help

I installed Hangouts in early May, I think Gmail app changed after that. I hated Hangouts, so I uninstalled it and got Talk back on my Galaxy Nexus. I always had my Talk conversations saved automatically in my Gmail Chat label. They are still being saved there on my PC version of Gmail, but they are not appearing (as if they are not saved) on my Android Gmail app. There haven't been any new Talk conversations placed in my Android Chat folder since May 6 (which may be around the time that I tried Hangouts.) Moreover, when I go to Settings > ????.gmail.com > Manage labels, the Chat label doesn't even show up in the list of labels. When I go to the pull-down menu to look at my labels, Chat appears in the Recent Labels and All Labels lists, but again, it is never updated with new Talk messages. Yet, things are just fine on the web version, and the Talk messages are, indeed, being saved in that Chat label. Any ideas? Thanks.

Will the HTC ONE V work with T-mobile 2G and 3G networks?

i am thinking of purchasing an HTC ONE V gsm phone and would like to know if it would be able to run using T-mobile's 3G network.

i am thinking of purchasing an HTC ONE V gsm phone and would like to know if it would be able to run using T-mobile's 3G network.

the band frequency specs in the product description (from amazon) says the following: GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz; HSPA/WCDMA: 3G bands are 850/1900/2100 MHz or 850/1700/2100 MHz, depending on the cellphone version.

note that regarding 3G bands there are two versions: 850/1900/2100 MHz or 850/1700/2100 MHz

taken from t-mobile website:
T-Mobile's UMTS network operates in Band IV, which uses 1700 MHz and 2100 MHz frequencies. Specifically, T-Mobile uses the 1700 MHz frequency to send information to cell sites and then uses the 2100 MHz frequency to receive information. A device must be able to use both frequencies to use T-Mobile's domestic UMTS network.
T-Mobile's GSM network operates in 850 MHz and 1900 MHz frequencies. Unlike our 3G and 4G networks, you do not need to use both bands to receive service, so if a device is only able to use 850 MHz or 1900 MHz, it can still use T-Mobile's domestic network.

it seems to me like the phone should work, assuming it is the 850/1700/2100 MHz version. however when using T-mobile's phone check tool (go to STEP 1: CHECK YOUR PHONE, click on check your phone) i enter HTC ONE V and get the reply: It appears this device is not currently in our compatibility list.

can someone please help me fully understand this and possibly verify if this phone model will work fine with T-mobile networks?

thanks!
